What this visa is
Subclass 482 (now branded “Skills in Demand”) lets an Australian employer sponsor a skilled worker for up to four years. Your occupation has to be on the relevant list, the employer must be an approved sponsor (or become one), and the role has to pass market salary and genuine-position tests.
Where applications go wrong
Three things sit on top of each other in a 482: sponsorship approval, a nomination for the role, and your visa. If any step fails the others can’t proceed.
