What this visa is
The Global Special Humanitarian Programme (subclass 202) is for people outside Australia who face substantial discrimination in their home country, and who have a proposer in Australia. The proposer must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen — typically a family member or a registered community organisation — and submits Form 681.
Where applications go wrong
202 cases live or die on the proposer’s submission. The Form 681 has to demonstrate the discrimination claim, the family link, and the proposer’s capacity to support resettlement. Cases are often weighed against family-link priorities and the annual program ceiling.
