Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300)
What this visa is
The Prospective Marriage (subclass 300) visa lets you come to Australia to marry your fiancé(e), who must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen. After marriage you apply for the onshore Partner visa (820/801) before the 300 expires.
Where applications go wrong
300 cases are refused most often on “intention to marry” evidence and meeting-in-person requirements. You also need to be free to marry under both your country’s and Australian law, which can be complex for divorced or widowed applicants.
