Engineers Australia requires a CDR regardless of qualification quality, since managerial competency sits outside what an engineering degree alone certifies. IML instead reviews the applicant's tertiary qualification against up to 10 years of managerial experience, typically requiring at least three years in an engineering-related role plus at least two years specifically in an engineering management role.
