What the assessment actually involves
VETASSESS assesses Actor as a Group B occupation: an AQF Bachelor degree or higher in a highly relevant field such as Acting, Drama, Performing Arts or Theatre Studies, plus paid employment at 20 hours a week or more within the last five years. The occupation's own suitable-occupations list is narrow — only Mime Artist and Voice-over Artist sit under it. Where these applications come unstuck
Actor and Entertainer or Variety Artist sit on the same list and reach the same single visa, so misfiling between the two costs nothing in visa access, only accuracy to the work. The costly mistake is the other direction: performing work that is really dancing or choreographing belongs under a different code entirely, on a far better list, and VETASSESS's own Dancer or Choreographer page names Actor as explicitly excluded from it.
