VETASSESS assesses Financial Market Dealer under Group B — a Bachelor-level, four-pathway structure — against Finance, Business, Commerce, Accounting, Economics or Actuarial Studies as highly relevant fields, identical to the other three dealer codes. Its own occupation description is that this role trades and distributes financial securities on behalf of financial institutions, dealing for an institution rather than for individual clients, which is the line VETASSESS uses to separate it from Stockbroking Dealer and Futures Trader.
Where these applications come unstuck
Because the qualification level, fields of study and much of the task list are identical across all four dealer codes, applicants can pick the wrong one on job-title reflex rather than checking which counterparty relationship actually matches their work. Its own page's employment-information text flags only a soft, conditional licensing line — 'may require a licence or registration, depending on the specific role' — rather than the dedicated banner Financial Investment Adviser and Manager carry, despite comparable AFS-licensing exposure.

Financial Market Dealer sits on STSOL only, so it reaches 190, 407, 491 and 494 but not 482 or 186, despite Group B being a Bachelor-level assessment on the same footing as Financial Investment Adviser. It reaches more visas than its own sibling Futures Trader, which despite an identical assessment structure is ROL-only and reaches only the 494 regional visa.
