STSOL — Short-term Skilled Occupation List. Occupations on the STSOL can access state-nominated and regional skilled visas (190/491), but not the Skilled Independent 189.

Illustrator carries both STSOL and CSOL, reaching 186 and 482 employer sponsorship as well as 190, 407, 491 and 494 — the fuller visa reach of the 2324 quartet alongside Multimedia Designer and Web Designer, and notably wider than Graphic Designer's STSOL-only listing despite the overlapping subject matter. An applicant confident their actual work fits Illustrator rather than the more familiar Graphic Designer title has, in practice, a wider set of genuinely open visa pathways to work with.
