CCEA is both the migration skills assessing authority and the body that assesses overseas-qualified chiropractors for registration with the Chiropractic Board of Australia — one organisation running functions that, for most codes in this family, are split across two separate bodies. The process runs in two stages: a Desktop Audit of documents, roughly six weeks once everything is submitted, followed by a Competency Based Assessment in three parts covering written basic competency, written clinical competency and practical clinical competency, sat over consecutive days in Australia or New Zealand. Holders of a recent AU or NZ-accredited qualification, or unconditional current registration, can be exempt from the Competency Based Assessment stage entirely.
