AUSTSWIM, the national swim-teaching body, states a qualified swim teacher "must hold a current AUSTSWIM Teacher Licence, renewed every three years" — an industry membership scheme, not a government licence, and entirely separate from what VETASSESS assesses. The specific trap this page names directly: a short professional-development course, however genuinely useful on the pool deck, is supplementary evidence only and does not substitute for the AQF Certificate II the occupation actually requires.

Visa reach (190, 407, 491, 494) carries no employer-sponsorship door at all, so a swim school wanting to sponsor a coach on a 482 has no pathway through this code, whatever hours or client list the coach can show.
