Defaulting to this code as a safe catch-all when Health Practice Manager, or a general Office Manager role, genuinely fits better is the wrong move, not a hedge, and VETASSESS says so on the page itself.
An honest read on this pathway
This is the correct code only for the specific practice types it names — accounting, architectural, legal and veterinary among them — not a general-purpose fallback for any practice-manager title that doesn't obviously fit elsewhere. Like Health Practice Manager, it reaches regional nomination only, not the 482 sponsorship route Office Manager carries, so nominating it in place of Office Manager on the assumption it is the closer job-title match closes off sponsorship rather than opening it.
