Nec covers exactly eight named disciplines, not "any engineer who doesn't fit elsewhere," and someone practising a discipline that already has its own named 2339 code — aeronautical, agricultural, biomedical, environmental, naval architecture, or the technologist categories — does not belong under nec by default, however generalist the day-to-day work feels.
