Which lists is Multimedia Specialist on?
MLTSSL — Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List. The widest list — occupations on the MLTSSL can access the points-tested permanent skilled visas including the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189), which needs no state nomination or employer.
CSOL — Core Skills Occupation List. The employer-sponsorship list — occupations on the CSOL can be nominated for the Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482) and the Employer Nomination Scheme 186.

Processing priority
Multimedia Specialist isn't in any of the ANZSCO groups that Directions 121 and 122 list for the priority sectors. What the assessment actually involves
ACS assesses Multimedia Specialist, and its published definition is the games, animation and interactive media end of the web development duty list: creating computer animation, audio, video and graphic image files for multimedia presentations, games and motion pictures, as well as planning, producing and maintaining websites and web applications. The general skills experience matrix applies as elsewhere in the family, keyed to qualification level and how closely its ICT content relates to this occupation.
Where these applications come unstuck
Because the duty bullets are word for word the same as Web Developer, the distinction rests on that definition and on your job title as it appears on the reference letter. Creative work is also where ACS's exclusions bite hardest: research counts only where it went beyond what your thesis required and needs a supervisor's statement, and teaching counts only where you taught an AQF Diploma or higher at a recognised institution. Unpaid or partly paid creative work does not count at all.
An honest read on this pathway
On the MLTSSL and CSOL, which is a wider range than Web Developer despite the shared duty list, so for someone whose work genuinely spans both the code choice has real consequences. Listed on South Australia's Adelaide City Technology and Innovation DAMA at skill level one. As with the rest of the family, no licence or registration follows the assessment, and the outcome letter is valid for two years with no renewal or reassessment available.
