Which lists is Building Inspector on?

STSOL — Short-term Skilled Occupation List. Occupations on the STSOL can access state-nominated and regional skilled visas (190/491), but not the Skilled Independent 189.

CSOL — Core Skills Occupation List. The employer-sponsorship list — occupations on the CSOL can be nominated for the Skills in Demand visa (subclass 482) and the Employer Nomination Scheme 186.

A career spent coordinating site resources rather than inspecting completed or in-progress work against a standard is Building Associate's territory, not this one. Building Inspector is also named on both 1331 manager codes' own exclusion lists, so an inspector whose role genuinely grew into enterprise-level project authority needs to make that case against Construction Project Manager or Project Builder rather than assuming Building Inspector still fits.

Building Inspector reaches the STSOL and CSOL with 186, 190, 407, 482, 491 and 494 — a wider visa spread than Building Associate, including a state-nominated 190 route, though still not the general skilled 189. Registration or licensing to actually carry out building inspections is a separate, state-run question this family's dossier did not verify beyond Queensland's general licensing framework — a positive VETASSESS outcome assesses the occupation for migration purposes, not a state's inspection or certification authority.
